The course is delivered by one of our ITC-qualified thermographers in a friendly yet informative style, with small class sizes and an informative yet relaxed presentation style combine to achieve high customer satisfaction.
What will I learn on this Thermal Imaging Course:
Temperature is a key measurement in virtually every situation and process. More and more people are recognising the advantages of using a thermal imaging camera as a safe and rapid means of monitoring the condition of processes and equipment by using this non-contact method. Using up-to-date thermal cameras and software, delegates will learn how to capture and analyse a thermal image then report their findings.
The course begins with a simple definition of thermography and looks at a number of different and proven workplace applications to illustrate its benefits. We will explain the thermal camera’s components and give guidance on how to capture a quality thermal image.
There will be plenty of opportunity for ‘hands on’ work, reinforcing the information contained within the course literature. You will learn the fundamentals of thermal image acquisition and analysis, providing you with the choice of making an ‘on the spot’ analysis or undertaking a more detailed investigation using the manufacturer’s software.
Thermal Imaging Course Contents:
- The benefits of using thermal imaging - Illustrated by a selection of different applications
- Key camera components - Lens, IR detector & sensor electronics
- Explanation of basic camera specifications - Temperature range, thermal sensitivity, IFOV, D:S ratio & detector resolution
- Demonstration of basic camera operation - Focus, colour palettes, thermal focus & blending
- General principles of thermography - Qualitative analysis & quantitative analysis
- Introduction to emissivity correction & reflected background temperature
- Capturing a quality image - Composition, temp. differential, distance & focus
- Advanced features, examples including: - Colour alarms & Voice recording
- Software demonstration - Image analysis & Production of reports
- Assessment - Practical & written assessment for your certificate of training
