What will I learn on this Safe Isolation Course?
Safe isolation is important when work is required on an electrical circuit or system - you can make sure it‘s deemed “dead” and therefore safe for you to work on.
The course starts with an explanation of the relevant guidance materials available and an introduction to electrical safety.
The course then explores the tools and test equipment needed to safely isolate electrical installations and equipment.
Concluding with a Q&A session giving those attending the chance to ask individual questions and seek clarification and guidance.
The course is based around the guidance issued by the Electrical Safety Council, HSE Guidance Note GS38 and the Memorandum of Guidance on the Electricity at Work Regulations. This course is delivered by one of our trained staff in an informal yet informative presentation.
Who would benefit from a safe isolation procedure?
This course is aimed at anyone, whether they are in a domestic, office or industrial environment, wishing to isolate electrical equipment prior to carrying out minor electrical testing and/or repairs on low voltage installations.... or if you need to conduct safe isolation of mechanical equipment prior to maintenance.
It is a prerequisite that those attending the course are deemed competent to work on the equipment to be isolated.
